For episode 44, the Dodge/Train Car, I was supposed to make a 3D sculpture that captured the Monster Garage spirit as applied to a train. I decided to model it after a steam locomotive from the 1800’s because they had huge smokestacks and giant “cow catchers”.

I made a model out of paper first because I wanted to “cut and fold” as much as possible. For example, the engineer's shack is two pieces, (the shack and the roof), the steam boiler is one piece, and the smoke stack is made of 3 pieces. Put them on a 1/2” tube steel frame, cut your basic skull, spider webs, and flames, and voila, Hell Train.
